This hotel is pure heaven! The staff is amazing! The room, restaurant and pool are total class and luxury. I could eat at the restaurant every meal for a week, so many options and all delicious! The gym has everything you could possibly want or need to get a fantastic workout in. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!

The Hotel looked very nice and clean , the staff very hospitable however the disappointment came when we had a meal in the restaurant , the food was very good and the staff excellent but in the restaurant was 2 dogs walking around , one scratching , possibly with fleas and the other coming to the table for food . I found this very unhygienic and unacceptable , the staff were well aware of the dogs as they walked around them , the dogs were not blind guide dogs. The second disappointment was the room , although well appointed it was in need of some maintenance ie the tpas in the bathroom sing were both loose and difficult to turn, it is a shame that these 2 problems distracted from what could been a very nice stay

Stayed one evening and then left early the next morning for next part of our trip. Was supposed to be a bit "fancy" according to our tour guide, but I found it "ok". Rooms have a bit of novelty looking onto a polo pitch I suppose, but otherwise wasn't exciting. Dinner stops around 8pm, so get there early - I was glad we weren't late. We had some decent pizza and a bottle of wine that was nice enough. My main reason for the mid-range score is this place isn't cheap, and the standard of the takeaway (we were leaving at 6am) breakfast was abysmal. Ordered one vegetarian and one normal. The veggie one had ham in.... and my non-veggie one was the cheapest white bread I've ever seen and the filling looked so cheap and nasty I threw it in the bin and bought a nice breakfast at the airport (top tip, domestic departures does a decent local style breakfast). Honestly, they should be ashamed of that food, seriously weak given they charge for the normal restaurant breakfast - which I'm sure is lovely. Grounds are nice, plenty of interesting birdlife around if you like that kind of thing (we do!).

We stayed twice at La Palma, once upon arriving in Quito in route to Galapagos and after in route to the Andes. It was a great decision. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms luxurious. The food delicious. And the staff were so welcoming and helpful. They helped us to arrange a car to and from the Andes. We enjoyed swimming in the pool, walking the property and seeing the variety of birds and occasional polo practices. Highly recommended!

My only regret about La Palma Polo Club is that we were only able to stay one night. It was our stop on our way to the Galapagos, but it's such a special and beautiful place that I could spend an entire vacation relaxing there. On top of everything, the hospitality was unbelievable.

This was an outstanding place to stay. A group of 19 of us stayed here for a couple nights in route to the Galapagos. It was outstanding! We enjoyed the food, and the drinks! They have an outstanding breakfast! Everyone was very kind and helpful! Cheers! Bravo! Nicely done!

I was very impressed with the hotel estate. The rooms were large and beautiful and very clean. The estate was gorgeous and I loved that they had animals on site. The staff were incredibly kind and customer service oriented. Breakfast was included and was great. We also ate here for a couple dinners and it was also great. They thought of every little detail, including gorgeous living centerpieces on the tables. This is a bit off the beaten path but our travel agent booked us here when we were flying in and out of Quito and I’m SO glad! It is a lovely property, beautiful, authentic, safe and very comfortable. 10/10 recommend!!!

We stayed for one night and had a perfect time. Just to be sure, the hotel is not in downtown Quito. It seems close to the airport but the way was a bit long. Saying the above, the hotel was great. The room is spacious, the bathroom huge. We had a closed in porch with doors that opened. The breakfast was good. We had dinner here and the food was very good, although the menu is limited. It was very peaceful.

We stayed in Room 16 in late June. Some of our travel companions were in other rooms in the new wing -- Rooms 14-17. These rooms were not ready for guest stay. In full disclosure, our travel company made a last-minute booking due to demonstrations in Quito; however, this room would be considered uninhabitable by U.S. standards. We were told that for service, we should send a message to the front desk using WhatsApp. That was difficult because the room had spotty wifi and mobile phone coverage was somewhat weak in the area. For dinner one night, we chose room service. We learned that the link to the restaurant menu was not valid – the menu was different that night. So I walked to the restaurant to get a menu from them and ordered via WhatsApp from the hotel lobby. I’m sure the rooms will be suitable and lovely when live wires are capped; door handles are installed; the wood cabinets are varnished so people can’t get splinters; the leaks in the ceiling are plugged; the rear patio is finished and accessible; a means of contacting the front desk is available; bathroom installation is complete; door handles are installed; wifi reaches the new wing; shower gel is readily available; a hair dryer is included in the room; a luggage rack is made available; furniture is added; the TV is made functional; the fireplace is ready for use; the walkway to the room is given more space before a precarious 2-meter drop-off; the septic smell is flushed out; blackout curtains are installed; etc. Until then, I recommend avoiding these new, incomplete rooms. On the positive side, the hotel manager did what he could to help us make the most of our stay, the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly, and the hotel’s continental breakfast was nicely prepared.
